About Us
This Is the Putt Family’s Farm. This Is Our Beef.
I’m Andrew Putt, and along with my parents Doug and Lori, we raise cattle on 125 acres in Northern Michigan, just outside Traverse City in Benzie County. We started in 2016 with a small herd and a simple belief: that beef raised right, on land you care for, tastes different. It does. We’ve built everything around proving that.
For the first few years, we sold at the farm stand — and the feedback we got back changed everything. Customers kept coming back, asking where they could get more, telling us it was the best beef they’d ever had. That’s when we knew we couldn’t keep selling wholesale and letting that quality disappear into a supply chain where nobody knew where it came from. Going direct wasn’t a business decision. It was the only honest one.
Our cattle spend their days rotating across our pastures — fresh grass, open land, room to move. We finish them on grain for the marbling and depth of flavor you can’t get from grass alone. No hormones. No antibiotics. No shortcuts. We know every animal on this farm, and that accountability shows up in every cut we ship.
If you ever have a question about an order, a cut, or how we do things here, reach out — we read every message ourselves. And if you’re ever up in Northern Michigan, we’d love to show you the farm. Thank you for supporting a family operation that means everything to us.
